Legacies of San Juan Hill Festival
This event has already occurred
Description
This October, Lincoln Center honors the vibrant cultural history of San Juan Hill, the neighborhood that once thrived where the campus stands today. In the first half of the 20th century, San Juan Hill was a creative epicenter, nurturing groundbreaking voices in ragtime, jazz, bebop, mambo, Afro-Caribbean music, visual arts, musical theater and more. This multi-day festival celebrates the legacy with live performance, film and interactive events that spotlight the artists who shaped the neighborhood’s spirit.
