Description
ArtsWestchester, Pioneer Works and City Lore combine forces for this extraordinary exhibition that spans three sites and showcases the artistry and culture of the house ballroom community. This group of work-class Black, Nuyorican and Latino queer and trans people emerged in the 1960s out of the African American drag ball scene in late 19th-century Harlem. Through this exhibition, visitors can see collections of ball flyers, archival photos, costuming pieces along with audio and video.
