Description

The Morgan Library & Museum hosts an evening honoring two of the most iconic LGBTQ+ American artists of the 20th century. The works of photographer Peter Hujar and playwright Tennessee Williams will be featured in two dazzling retrospectives, running until the end of May. As one of the theater world’s most recognizable and important scribes, Tennessee Williams is responsible for penning A Streetcar Named Desire, The Glass Menagerie and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Peter Hujar was a gay artist known for his stark, black-and-white portraits of queer America that made him a social disrupter, and later, a bohemian pseudo-celeb of the New York art scene. This special night at the museum for LGBTQ+ visitors celebrates both exhibits and features an open wine bar, live music and special curtator talks on the Morgan's collection.
