Lincoln Center’s Summer for the City Hip-Hop Lineup

Lincoln Center is hosting hundreds of pay-as-you-wish events this summer, and among them is a full slate dedicated to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop from August 9 through 12, which includes a campus-wide celebration of the artform’s global impact. There’ll be live performances by Rakim, DJ J. Period and Big Daddy Kane, an appearance by A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammad, dance parties and classes, a silent disco, trap choir and much more. They’ve also partnered with Film at Lincoln Center to host a five-film mini-festival centered on hip-hop, which runs through July 12.
