Description

The Metropolitan Opera’s 2023–2024 season boasts the greatest number of new works in the company’s recent history. It all kicks off with one of four premieres, Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking. Other new works include Anthony Davis’ The Life and Times of Malcolm X; Daniel Catán’s Florencia en el Amazonas (the first opera performed entirely in Spanish at the Met in almost a century); and John Adams’ El Nino. Crowd favorites like Madama Butterfly, La Bohème and Roméo et Juliette round out the season. Additionally, opera lovers can enjoy nine performances transmitted live to theaters across the world as part of the Met Opera Live in HD series.
