Description

The Metropolitan Opera returns with its 2024–2025 season, featuring six new productions. The festivities start September 23 with the premiere of Grounded by Tony Award–winning composer Jeanine Tesori. Others include Met premieres of Osvaldo Golijov’s Ainadamar, Jake Heggie’s Moby-Dick and John Adams’ Antony and Cleopatra along with new stagings of Verdi’s Aida and Strauss’ Salome. Twelve revivals round out the season, including Puccini’s La Bohème, Beethoven’s Fidelio, Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades and the annual presentation of The Magic Flute. Additionally, opera lovers can enjoy eight performances transmitted live to theaters across the world as part of The Met: Live in HD series.
