A musician wearing a cowboy hat and red clothes plays guitar center stage, while another musician sits elevated in the background playing bass. The set features wooden structures and dramatic stage lighting.
A musician in red pants passionately plays a guitar on stage under blue and purple lights, while another person plays piano in the background amid an industrial-style set.
Two men perform on stage; one passionately plays an acoustic guitar, while the other raises his arm dramatically. Both wear casual clothes and are lit by stage lights, with musical instruments visible in the background.

Description

Mexodus, which debuted last fall at Minetta Lane Theatre, is a musical celebrating the rich cultural ties between the United States and Mexico at a moment when Latino stories are particularly resonant across the City’s stages. Created and performed by Salvadoran American writer-actor Brian Quijada and African American musician Nygel D. Robinson, Mexodus brings to light a little-known chapter of history: the journey of thousands of enslaved individuals who found freedom by crossing into Mexico.
