Description
New York Comic Con is a celebration of all things comic book related and inspired, and it offers the rare chance for fans to mingle with publishers, writers, performers and illustrators. The self-proclaimed “geek” festival is an intersection of fandoms, including gaming, TV, film, anime, manga, comics and graphic novels. Costumes and cosplay abound at this weird and wacky event, which takes over the Javits Center for screenings, panels, meetups and merchandise booths. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Comic Con; in celebration it’s featuring a Coney Island theme and collaboration. Notable names at this year’s event include guest of honor Nicolas Cage, Hayden Christensen, comic book writer Frank Miller, Jamie Campbell Bower (Stranger Things) and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones).
