The Liberty won their first championship in 2024, beating the Minnesota Lynx in a five-game thriller of a series.They prepare to defend their title in 2025, led by point guard Sabrina Ionescu, forward Betnijah Laney-Hamilton and two-time league MVP Breanna Stewart. The team has high expectations for this season, but it is still way more affordable to buy Liberty tickets than to go see the Knicks or Nets—one reason the squad has a family-friendly reputation. The team also has its share of celebrity fans, most notably rocker Joan Jett. The Liberty play their home games in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
