Description
Update, October 2026: The Liberty lost in the WNBA semifinals to the Atlanta Dream. Check back for the 2027 schedule. The Liberty won their first championship in 2024, beating the Minnesota Lynx in a five-game thriller of a series. In 2025 they suffered injuries to key players that dashed their hopes of a championship, falling to the Phoenix Mercury in the first round of the playoffs. The team, led by point guard Sabrina Ionescu, forward Betnijah Laney-Hamilton and two-time league MVP Breanna Stewart, is healthy and poised for a big 2026 season. It is much more affordable to buy Liberty tickets than to go see the Knicks or Nets—one reason the squad has a family-friendly reputation. The team also has its share of celebrity fans, most notably rocker Joan Jett. The Liberty play their home games in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
