Description

This group show by artists from Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican diaspora commemorates the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Maria. Works in the exhibition have been created in response to that tragic event, which caused the deaths of thousands of citizens and made apparent the government dysfunction and propensity for natural disasters that continue to affect the island today. The title of the show is taken from a line by poet Raquel Salas Rivera (translated as “there is no post-hurricane world”); it speaks to the depth of the trauma experienced by Puerto Ricans and the hurricane’s terrible and transformative power.
