Description
Ben Shahn’s career ran from the Great Depression through the Vietnam War, and this exhibit—his first US retrospective in nearly 50 years—comprises 175 pieces of his artwork, including paintings, mural studies, prints, photographs and commercial designs. His work addresses themes such as unemployment, discrimination, authoritarianism and threats to freedom of expression—and the fight for civil and human rights.
