Description

Celebrate NYC’s rich history at a special NYC 400 Wiknic and Edit-a-Thon, presented in partnership with Washington Square Park. A Wiknic is a “picnic that anyone can edit” and invites participants to enjoy the outdoors while contributing to Wikipedia. This event will focus on enhancing articles about the 400 neighborhoods and notable New Yorkers nominated for expanded coverage. For those interested in photography or Wikimedia Commons, a guided photo tour through Washington Square Park and the West Village will offer opportunities to capture and upload images to the Commons archive. Bring your favorite food items, your curiosity, your laptop and your eye for history!
