NYPL Declaration of Independence Display

Description

In honor of the semiquincentennial, the New York Public Library will exhibit a rare historic copy of the Declaration of Independence, handwritten by founding father Thomas Jefferson. Visit the NYPL’s Schwarzman Building to see Jefferson’s original text, which was completed on July 1, 1776. This copy includes sections that were later removed before its July 4 ratification.  Free, timed tickets will be required for entry.
