Events /Oedipus
A bald man sits on a chair, hugging a woman in a floral dress who sits on his lap. Both look serious; the woman rests her head on his, gazing forward. The background is plain and dark.
A dramatic scene on stage shows a man in a suit pointing and shouting at a person in casual clothes, while others react in distress; one man sits on the floor, and two people move hurriedly in the background.

Description

This bold reimagining of Sophocles’ ancient Greek tragedy is adapted for current audiences as a political thriller. It’s election night, and Oedipus believes he’s the clear winner—but as news breaks, the tides will turn and it’s no longer just one man’s reputation at stake, but the whole country’s. Tony winner Mark Strong and Olivier winner Lesley Manville, who starred in the show’s acclaimed West End run, remain on board for this limited-engagement play.
