Description
Trace the history of fashion through Paris—the international epicenter of the industry. This exhibition features roughly 100 fashion ensembles and accessories from the 18th century up to today. The introductory gallery shows how Paris competed with New York and London for top billing in worldwide fashion. That’s followed by the main gallery’s sections: one outlines the rise of the Paris fashion system in the late 17th and 18th centuries, while another focuses on the growth of fashion in the city, particularly feminine fashion and the emergence of haute couture.
