John Singer Sargent: Portraits in Charcoal
This event has already occurred
Description
While John Singer Sargent is best known for his powerful paintings, he transitioned from painted portraits to charcoal drawings in 1907 in alignment with his commissions. This is the first major exhibit to showcase the artist's charcoal portraits, and highlights not only Sargent's work but also his relationship to his sitters and their roles in Edwardian Britain and Progressive Era America.
