Description

The Promise of Liberty gives visitors the chance to engage with the nation’s founding history through original documents, rare books, broadsides and ephemera, alongside select reproductions of visuals that collectively shaped the American story. The exhibit also includes handwritten pages from an undelivered inaugural address by George Washington and an advance copy of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “March on Washington” speech which showcases how freedom has been redefined throughout America's 250 years.
