Description

On view February 5–March 29 at Culture Lab LIC, this community-centered exhibition honors women whose names and legacies are embedded in Queens’ streets, schools, parks and public spaces. Presented during Women’s History Month by the Queens Memory Project in partnership with Urban Archive, the show draws from photographs, oral histories and family-shared records to highlight educators, activists, artists, journalists and public servants who reshaped neighborhoods across the borough. Together, these stories invite visitors to reconsider how public memory is made and whose contributions are celebrated.
