Description

Shirley Chisholm was the first Black woman elected to Congress and the first woman to run for president on a major party ticket. On the occasion of the centennial of her birth, the Museum of the City of New York and Brooklyn College's Shirley Chisholm Project celebrate her life, tireless advocacy and legacy. In addition to hearing from Chisholm in recordings of her own words, the exhibition features artifacts, photos and videos.
