Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion

Description

Appropriately for spring, this exhibition at The Met’s Costume Institute explores rebirth and renewal through fashion. The show draws 250 items from The Met’s permanent collection—some rarely seen in public before—for visitors to interact with them in a whole new manner. Using technology, the museum creates an experience that highlights the various sensory elements of each garment—including how they feel, move, sound and smell when worn—to create a deeper understanding of their magnificence. Expect designs from the likes of Phillip Lim, Stella McCartney, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Givenchy and other iconic names.
