Description
Nikolai Gogol’s satirical play comes to life on the Off-Broadway stage, set in a provincial village where corruption runs deep, and an undercover inspector is sent in to reveal the town’s secrets. Once the town learns of the inspector’s imminent arrival, they take drastic (and often hilarious) measures to hide what’s really going on. Michael Urie (from TV’s Ugly Betty) leads a celebrated cast—including two-time Tony nominee Mary Testa, Into the Woods’s Stephen DeRosa and Spamalot’s Michael McGrath—in this adaptation from playwright Jeffrey Hatcher.
