Description
The Metropolitan Opera takes Mozart’s Magic Flute and adapts it into a family-friendly, English-language version that’s full of holiday spirit and enchantment. Conductors Nicholas Carter and Patrick Furrer lead the production, which stars Rolando Villazón and Gordon Bintner trading off nights as bird catcher Papageno, along with Emily Pogorelc, Emma Marhefka and Kathryn Lewek each starring as the princess, and Piotr Buszewski and David Portillo as the prince. Julie Taymor (Broadway’s The Lion King) directs.
