The Obama Portraits Tour
This event has already occurred
Description
Kehinde Wiley’s portrait of President Barack Obama and Amy Sherald’s portrait of First Lady Michelle Obama have been top draws at the National Portrait Gallery since their debut in February 2018. Their five-city tour makes a stop at Brooklyn’s largest museum, where you can see these striking works for yourself—the first official presidential portrait commissions painted by Black artists. Public programming during the exhibition's run includes "Brooklyn Talks: The Sartorial Vision of Michelle Obama" (September 2), "Drink and Draw: The Obama Portraits" (September 16) and "Art History Happy Hour: The Obama Portraits" (October 21). Separate tickets are required, but include access to the galleries.
