Description
Seán O'Casey's play about the Irish War of Independence debuted at Dublin's Abbey Theatre back in 1923. It was the first in a triology of tragicomic plays exploring life in his hometown and the effects of the war. For the Irish Repertory Theatre's 30th anniversary, the company is presenting all three plays in 2019, with Gunman as the first production. Directed by Ciarán O'Reilly, this show centers on a poet trying to escape the conflict who becomes the unlikely subject of a rumor that he's a gunman on the run.
