The Tudors: Art and Majesty in Renaissance England
This event has already occurred
Description
The Tudor dynasty—the period that gave us Sir Thomas Wyatt, Edmund Spenser and Shakespeare—began when King Henry VII took the throne in 1485 and ended with the death of Queen Elizabeth I in 1603. This exhibit includes more than 100 paintings, tapestries, pieces of armor and sculptures. The art is organized according by sections that correspond with the dynasty’s five rulers, and the design showcases the architecture common to Tudor palaces.
