Description

The Thunderbird American Indian Dancers formed more than 60 years ago and for decades led regular powwows at a YMCA in in the City. This celebration takes place at NYC’s oldest working farm, featuring three days of performances, including intertribal dance competitions and noncompetitive dances whose significance is explained to those watching; it too has been happening for years, providing an important lens into Indigenous culture. Expect a market selling authentic Native American art, crafts, jewelry and food as well.
