Description

As a part of the Studio Museum's reopening, this exhibition presents the work of artist, activist and community organizer Tom Lloyd, who was also a part of the museum's inaugural 1968 exhibition. Lloyd, together with an engineer at RCA, was among the pioneers of using electric light as a means of artistic expression. The show also shines a light on Lloyd's activism with the Art Workers’ Coalition and his founding of the Store Front Museum, the first art museum in Queens.
