Description
Tony and Emmy winner LaChanze stars in this play about an experienced Black stage actress facing racism and other challenges during rehearsals of a major Broadway production. Alice Childress’ story made its Off-Broadway debut in 1955 and was scheduled to transfer to Broadway two years’ later, which didn’t happen at the time. It finally finds its home there in 2021.
