Description

This exhibition at the National Academy of Design questions the United States’ relationship with the word “America,” highlighting the various influences that have shaped our country’s cultural landscape. The name can be read as querying who America belongs to as well as who actually is America. The display will also touch on the other countries that make up North America and how Indigenous people were affected by the formation of the United States.
