Description

The Morgan Library & Museum has combined forces with the Mozarteum Foundation of Salzburg to share the life and talent of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The foundation has lent some of Mozart’s most treasured pieces to the Morgan for this exhibition, including his clavichord and violin, portraits, letters and personal items belonging to Mozart and his family. The Morgan also draws upon its own collection for an extensive exhibition that delves into Mozart’s personal life. It’s focused on his youth spent with his father and his sister, and his adult life as a married man, along with his many struggles and his lasting influence, which peaked posthumously.
