Federico García Lorca’s 1934 tale of a childless woman’s desperation to be a mother is reimagined by Australian director Simon Stone. Transferring from an acclaimed performance in London, award-winning actress Billie Piper stars as the woman who is “driven to the unthinkable” by her obsession over her infertility and the resulting trauma. The play—a metaphor for life’s struggles in our modern day of social media and the resulting voyeurism—is set for a limited one-month run at the Park Avenue Armory.
