Brooklyn Grange – Sunset Park

Description

New York City might seem the last place you’d expect to find a farm, but this rooftop oasis is one of several operated by Brooklyn Grange. The 3.2-acre swathe of green opened in 2019, complete with hydroponic greenhouse, indoor events space, outdoor patio and open-air vegetable gardens. It’s usually open for a monthly farmers’ market and free 45-minute tours (Sundays, May–Oct), and also offers yoga classes and the like. Brooklyn Grange specializes in urban landscaping and green roofing as well as rooftop farming, growing vegetables for the local community.
