Complete your Red Hook adventures with a visit to the Mary A. Whalen. This historic ship has been maintained and housed by PortSide New York, a nonprofit advocating for urban waterway development since 2005. Seeking to grow the maritime community, PortSide hosts family-friendly events like Tanker Time, monthly days to chill out on the ship deck with BYOB and food, live music and kids’ activities. Other programs include sip ’n’ paint nights, movie screenings and tours.
