Mighty Miniatures

Description
At the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian’s New York location, tiny artworks carry an outsize impact. More than 300 pieces created by Indigenous artists from North and South America, Hawai‘i and the Caribbean are on display, with works from toys and dolls to baskets and pottery. Marvel at nearly 200 years of artistry and detail while learning about Native American cultures and examining the role miniatures play in daily life. There are special events too: multidisciplinary artist Lance Cardinal (Best In Miniature TV series finalist) leads a family-friendly mini drum making session on December 12.
