Founded in 2001, Neue Galerie New York specializes in early 20th-century German and Austrian art and decor. The organization’s 25th anniversary exhibition, Masterworks from the Neue Galerie, not only celebrates its quarter century milestone but also the reopening of its galleries after a large restoration project on the historic building. While there are many gems in this collection, Gustav Klimt’s Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I takes pride of place and is incredible to see in person.
