Description
As the United States reaches its 250th birthday, the New York Historical takes a moment to focus on oft-forgotten contributors to the country’s origins. This exhibition aims to answer questions of how the American Revolution impacted women and how women impacted the Revolution. Included are love letters, poems, petitions, military correspondence, paintings, household objects and more that display how women supported—and even opposed—our country’s independence.
