Description
Twin sisters and outlaws Mary and Martha Clarke are on the run in Texas in 1893. They are Black women who can pass for white, and they hide in plain sight—all in an attempt to save their mother and their family’s legacy. The mostly true musical (about actual people) is based on stories passed down through generations. Book and lyrics are by Angelica Chéri, who is a descendant of the Clarke sisters themselves.
