The Knickerbocker
Description
Originally opened in 1906 by John Jacob Astor IV, The Knickerbocker Hotel is a true New York City icon. Designated an official NYC Landmark in 1980 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, the hotel has welcomed distinguished guests including F. Scott Fitzgerald, Theodore Roosevelt, and John D. Rockefeller, and is famously rumored to be the birthplace of the martini. Following a comprehensive renovation in 2015, The Knickerbocker was thoughtfully reimagined for a new era of modern luxury while preserving its historic grandeur. Today, the hotel offers 330 stylish guestrooms, including 31 suites, two fitness studios, and versatile indoor/outdoor event space accommodating up to 250 guests. Guests can enjoy five distinct food and beverage experiences: Charlie Palmer Steak IV, The Martini Lounge, Jake’s Cafe, St. Cloud Rooftop, and Akoya, the hotel’s rooftop sushi bar—an exceptional collection of culinary destinations in Midtown Manhattan.
