The famed Midtown complex holds a number of seasonal attractions, including its world-famous Christmas tree, the ice-skating rink below the tree and a City Winery pop up—with heated outdoor space, private domes and a rinkside café.

St. Patrick's Cathedral
2
Fifth Ave. btw. 50th-51st Sts.
The City’s best-known Catholic church is open for tours and limited-capacity masses—and its neo-Gothic design is always an inspiring sight to behold streetside.

Bryant Park
This outdoor space, right by the main branch of the New York Public Library, offers open-air fun in the form of its holiday shops, ice rink and dining options.

The annual holiday fair will be virtual this year, but many of the shops are still open for in-person gift-buying opportunities, and there's a one-day Thanksgiving Market on November 25 in Vanderbilt Hall, a chance for you to take home a dessert for the big meal.

Empire State Building Observatory
5
20 W. 34th St.
Manhattan's best-known skyscraper honors the season with holiday windows done in Star Wars–themed decorations, complete with Lego models, LED lights and video displays. This is a good time to remember as well that Buddy the Elf's dad worked at the Empire State Building.

225 Madison Ave.
Head to JP Morgan’s luxurious former digs to see Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol manuscript, opened to the page where Scrooge tells us how he really feels about the yuletide.

The department store will have its holiday window display up from November 23 to December 23. You can catch livestreams of the light show on select days.
9
Bergdorf Goodman

754 Fifth Ave.
Colorful blocky words such as "love" and "hope" shimmer in Bergdorf's holiday window display, easily read so you don't have to crowd up on the sidewalk to see—though the store is open for business.

Macy's Herald Square
10
151 W. 34th St.
The windows on the Broadway side will be done up from November 19 to January 1 (the 34th Street side will have separate digital displays). Know that if you’re planning to visit to tell St. Nick your wish list, Santaland has gone virtual this year.

225 W. 57th St.
For its second holiday season in NYC, the 57th Street flagship puts up decorations on November 27 and hosts a daily Santa Snow Show, a menorah lighting, Kwanzaa celebrations and other festivities to enliven your shopping experience.
