Description
In spring 2008, this ultra-exclusive bar, housed underneath the Mercer Hotel, reopened after being closed for five years. The bar is currently closed again for the summer, but reopening in fall 2009. From the outside, you’d never know what’s happening two floors below: exposed brick, red walls, pricey cocktails, a stripper pole and three small rooms jumping with celebs galore, including Gossip Girl‘s Ed Westwick, Kirsten Dunst, Mary-Kate Olsen, Brooke Shields and Kiefer Sutherland, who famously broke designer Jack McCollough’s nose there in the spring of 2009. Because every good scandal happens below street level, no?
