Description
Alta Calidad sets the bar high for modern Mexican fare, particularly with its wide array of tacos made with hand-pressed corn tortillas. The chef at this beachy, windowed storefront in Prospect Heights is Akhtar Nawab, who’s worked at Gramercy Tavern, Craft and La Esquina. Dinner dishes, too, are insanely delicious; you might find octopus skewers over poblano rice or an al pastor pork shoulder. Vegetarians can get in on the madness, too, thanks to pumpkin blossom quesadillas and pea shoot tacos.
