This cozy Upper West Side neighborhood favorite is known for its lack of pretension, attentive service and extremely satisfying, well-sized Italian dishes, like grilled Italian sausage with broccoli rabe on polenta. Try the house specialty, a hearty braised lamb shank entrée with couscous, followed by the winning tiramisu. And plan ahead: Gennaro’s is priced reasonably, but it’s cash only.
