Mee Sum Cafe

Description

Mee Sum serves tasty family-style Cantonese food in a no-frills, fluorescent-lit canteen for bargain prices. Opened by the Cantonese Moy family in 1967, it’s been family-owned ever since and remains a local favorite for its cheap breakfast and lunch deals. Expect congee, dim sum, and various meat combos over rice; ginger salted chicken and fish, beef stew, and perennial favorite shrimp and egg rice. It’s most famous locally, however, for its freshly made zongzi (sticky rice with various fillings wrapped in bamboo leaves).
