There’s a surprising dearth of Iranian food in New York City, but this traditional Upper East Side eatery aims to fill the gap. A dinner menu features Middle Eastern classics, all of them enriched with herbs and spices unique to Persian cooking. The long-marinated lamb and seafood dishes score high with diners, though the vegetable dishes—from roasted eggplant prepared in multiple sauces to a long list of salads—are equally appetizing. The lunch menu is a frugal foodie’s dream, with two courses offered from noon to 6pm for just $17.
