Pop Pasta

Description

From the cronut to rainbow bagels, novelty dishes and innovative snacks are trending. Now, Brooklyn-based Pop Pasta brings you the latest headline-grabbing, Instagram-ready edible: the spaghetti donut. Forget sugary glazes and sweet confections—this donut shaped treat is strictly savory combining pasta, sauce, egg and cheese into a baked street food. The recipe is a unique take on the spaghetti pie, aka frittata di spaghetti, a traditional Italian dish that gets the ultimate American spin here. The easily portable, no-mess fare comes in a number of flavors including carbonara, bolognese, garlic and oil, and marinara. But it’s only available at Smorgasburg, which takes place during summer Saturdays along the Williamsburg waterfront.
