Prime Meats

Out of Business

Description

Deadwood fans should check out the 19th-century posturing at Prime Meats, serving a new potent punch each day in vintage glassware and frothy ales whose foam will lodge in handlebar mustaches. Some argue it's got the best burgers in Brooklyn, and the folks here make a mean steak, too. Salty Bavarian pretzels accompany the German-style sausages—despite Prime Meats' intention of being a bar out of the past, dishes have a modern aesthetic. And in a nod to both the past and to progress, most products come from local, sustainable purveyors and vegetables change seasonally. This hip throwback is the brainchild of Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli, a couple of bearded dandies with other successful Brooklyn ventures, including Frankies 457.
