Description
Southern expats will find a host of regional favorites at this sweet spot, from pots of pickled peppers to crackers and dips and chicken and dumplings. Partners Tasha Garcia Gibson and Julie Taras Wallach (Little Giant) have a penchant for endearingly named restaurants, this one a tribute to an alcohol-drenched Southern dessert. Also look for potent mint juleps. The front bar room, with its cushioned window seats and church pew banquette, is a casual hangout for drinks and snacks (hush puppies, deviled eggs), and the back dining room is a hospitable setting for a fuller experience (stuffed trout with green goddess dressing, braised pork shank with grits).
