Located in a happening section of Williamsburg, Vutera is underneath the cool jazz club Rose Live Music. The proprietors, brother and sister Carlo and Gina Vutera, have crafted what looks like an intimate French farmhouse kitchen—a surprise after the speakeasy-like entrance. Wood beams, rough stone walls and lots of candles add to the vibe. The brief Mediterranean menu features hearty wedding soup, whole roasted poussin with spaetzle, Brooklyn-made ricotta glazed with olive oil, and bavette steak with romesco sauce and roasted potatoes.
