Riverbank State Park Ice Rink

Riverbank State Park—a 28-acre public park elevated 69 feet above the banks of the Hudson River—is home to one of uptown’s only skating rinks. This indoor rink—which also hosts roller skating facilities in the summer—offers ice-skating lessons, an ice hockey league and a figure skating club all winter long, as well as regular open skating sessions, skate rental and skate sharpening services.

Harlem Tavern was welcomed with big crowds when it joined Harlem's thriving nightlife scene, and it's easy to see why. The beer garden's extensive drink menu boasts numerous domestic and imported beers, wheat beers, ales, lambics and more. Food selections range from typical bar fare, like burgers and wings, to higher-end cuisine, including cedar-planked salmon and handmade ratatouille ravioli.

Harlem Hops

This Harlem bar comes courtesy of owners Kevin Bradford, Kim Harris and Stacey Lee, three black entrepreneurs who set out to create a friendly spot for all degrees of beer drinkers in northern Manhattan. Many of the beers on the rotating tap list are sourced from local NYC brewers—you might find entries from LIC Beer Project, Rockaway, Singlecut and Threes Brewing. There’s Harlem spirit throughout the place, with the neighborhood’s name in lights above the bar and a graffitied Harlem Hops logo in the charming backyard space.
